When Walla Walla Community College first opened its doors in 1967, nursing was one of its flagship programs. Marybelle Savage was one of the program’s first instructors. In 1945 she had graduated from Seattle College and gotten her first job teaching at St. Mary’s Hospital in Walla Walla.
At WWCC it’s the Arts and Sciences program that prepares students to transfer to a baccalaureate institution. About one third of the college’s students are enrolled in this program.
