Data Council

Vision

A culture of evidence at the college supported by secure and accurate data, wherein it is recognized that the college’s data are strategic, shared assets.

Mission

Data Council leads data governance efforts at the college, assuring the integrity and accuracy of the college’s data and data systems by promoting communication among data users, developing guidelines for data and system use, liaising with SBCTC’s Data Governance Committee, and serving as a consultative body for data interpretation and coding.

Goals for 24-25

1) Maintain the Data Dictionary and provide access to WWCC employees.

  • Determine a “home” that is accessible for WWCC employees
  • Determine final formatting

 

2) Increase awareness of data integrity and proper use

  • Put together scheduled trainings/get to know us forums
  • Assist with onboarding for new employees, especially for Director/Dean level and above
  • Provide training and information on queries, list of frequently used queries

3) Assure security audits are occurring on a regular basis

  • Review the process of copying roles to new employees and employees who get a new role at the college
