CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School) is a federal grant program aimed at helping income-eligible students with their child care costs. Students must be “Pell eligible” to qualify for funding. Our Financial Aid office will determine if you are “Pell eligible” during the application process.

We offer two funding options (you may apply for both). Please read the information below before applying.

  1. Parenting Pantry Items
    Request a bag of parenting items you need most for pick up at the Warrior Food Pantry. These items could include diapers, pull-ups, baby wipes, formula, baby foods, and toddler foods.
  2. Child Care Subsidy
    CCAMPIS awards are paid directly to your child care provider on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Please see Application Details below.

Applications Details

Award Information: 

  • For students taking 10 or more credits, award covers 50% of child care cost, up to $500/mo. per child (max $1,000/mo. per family)
     
  • For students taking 6-9 credits, award covers 30% of child care cost, up to $300/mo. per child (max $600/mo. per family)
     
  • For students receiving Washington Connection state subsidy, award covers 100% of co-pay (max $215/mo. per family) 

Award Schedule: 

CCAMPIS awards are paid directly to your child care provider on a quarter-by-quarter basis. 

  • Summer: July, August September 
  • Fall: October, November, December 
  • Winter: January, February, March 
  • Spring: April, May, June 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • You must complete the FAFSA to determine if you are “Pell eligible.” 
  • You must be in a degree-seeking or 1-year certificate program. 
  • You must maintain a course load of at least 6 credit hours in each quarter. 
  • You must maintain “Good Academic Standing” (GPA of 2.0 or higher). 
  • If applying for a child care subsidy, your child care provider must be licensed by DCYF and you must be the legal, physical, custodial parent of the child. 

When you’re involved with CCAMPIS you will need to: 

  • Complete the FAFSA in a timely manner each year to ensure income eligibility. 
  • Check in at least once each quarter with the CCAMPIS Coordinator. 
  • Notify the CCAMPIS Coordinator of any change in your enrollment status or child care. 
  • Provide information about the cost of your child care, if receiving a CCAMPIS subsidy. 
  • Complete the annual CCAMPIS survey. Your input helps us continue to receive this funding and pay it forward to future students.
