GET HELP PAYING FOR CHILD CARE

Working Connections Child Care Program

Income-eligible parents who live in Washington State may apply for a child care subsidy through Washington State’s Department of Children Youth & Families (DCYF)

CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School)

WWCC students who are Pell eligible may get help paying for a portion of their monthly child care costs and receive items from our parenting pantry…diapers, wipes, formula and other products for young children.

Family-Friendly Spaces

A Family Study Room is located in the Professional Technical (J) Building, Room 322. This space has a laptop with printer access, meeting table, microwave and a variety of books and activities for young children, including comfy bean bags.

 


Please read policies for use of this space:

  • The study space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Children may never be left unattended in this space.
  • Parents are responsible for their children’s safety and behavior.
  • Please no diaper changing in this space. There is a gender-neutral restroom with a changing station next door.

Before leaving, kindly…

  • wipe down surfaces and toys with the provided spray.
  • return toys and books to their places.
  • remove any personal items or trash.

Community Resources for Parents

Free Baby Supplies

  • Akin (formerly Children’s Home Society) also has a family resource room where the community can receive diapers and wipes weekly. They also carry laundry detergent, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lice kits, dish soap, and fabuloso. The resource room is open 9am-4pm, Monday-Thursday, at 1612 Penny Lane. Contact (509) 529-2130 for more information.
  • Birthright of Walla Walla
    Free diapers (sizes 1 and 2), baby clothes up to 2T, maternity clothes, other maternity and baby items. Open 12-4, Monday-Thursday, at 609 W. Birch St. (across from Ice-burg).

  • Catholic Charities of Walla Walla Prepares Program
    When families are struggling to access basic needs for their children, PREPARES can help to provide new baby supplies and offer emotional support and additional resources that they may need.

Parenting Support Groups

Moms and Future Moms of Walla Walla Facebook Page 

This is a group for moms (and future moms) in the Walla Walla Valley who want to find community. Members are encouraged to host and attend events for moms (and kids). This group is not for selling, finding childcare or business spamming. 

 

Mother Baby Support Group 

This come-and-go class meets every Monday from 9 am to noon at Birthright of Walla Walla, 609 W. Birch St. Onsite lactation coaching, general feeding support, baby weighing and practical resources for caring for infants. Hosted by an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant & Registered Nurse. All services free and no appointment needed. More info at 509-897-2380. 

 

The MomCo 

MomCo by MOPS International is a Christian organization focused on gathering and supporting moms that meets the 1st & 3rd Thursdays (Sep-May) for friendship, food & fun. Free Childcare 0-5yrs. We’re here for ALL moms no matter stage/status.
