The Four Pillars of Guided Pathways

Pillar One

Clarify the Paths to Student Goals

Provide fewer choices and clearer program maps that lead to transfer or the workforce.

Pillar Three

Help Students Stay on Their Path

Use intrusive, ongoing advising and integrated educational and nonacademic supports.

Pillar Two

Help Students Get on a Path

Build bridges from high school to college, on-ramps to programs of study, and accelerated remediation.

Pillar Four

Ensure Students are Learning

Provide clear outcomes aligned to employer/transfer institutions, engaging learning, and effective pedagogy.
