Scholarships, like grants, are funds that do not require repayment. Funds for scholarships come from various sources ranging from WWCC to numerous organizations, both private and public. Awards are based on academic performance, potential to benefit, and in some cases, financial need. Many scholarships are designed for students in specific fields of study.

The Educational Opportunity Grant

The Educational Opportunity Grant (EOG) program provides $5,000 grants to financially needy, place bound Washington residents as an incentive to complete their first bachelor’s degree at an eligible college. The grant’s purpose is to encourage students who have achieved junior class standing, by completing a transferable associate’s degree or transferable credits, to complete their first bachelor’s degree.

WUE – Western Undergraduate Exchange

WUE is the Western Undergraduate Exchange, a program of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). Through WUE, students in western states may enroll in many two-year and four-year college programs at a reduced tuition level: 150% of the institution’s regular resident tuition which is considerably less than non-resident tuition. Blue Mountain Foundation

Blue Mountain Community Foundation started in 1984 based on the idea that the area needed a place for donors who cared about the community to make long-term investments. For more information and criteria for these scholarships, click here.

Other Local Scholarship Resources

Baker Boyer Bank will award three scholarships in the amounts of $1,000 to students that have completed the Baker Boyer Bank Finance Academy Program. Applicants must complete the form by May 1st of each year. Certain restrictions apply.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation’s leading Hispanic scholarship organization, providing the Hispanic community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country.
