Walla Walla Community College is proud to be recognized by the Providence St. Mary Foundation for the lasting impact of our Women’s Basketball program on the Walla Walla community.
As highlighted in the Providence story, WWCC Women’s Basketball has gone beyond the game for more than a decade—hosting “Pink Night” events that have raised over $35,000 in support of breast cancer care at Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center. These efforts have helped provide hundreds of free mammograms and imaging services for individuals who are uninsured or underinsured, expanding access to critical early detection services.
The article also recognizes how these contributions have supported patients in other meaningful ways, including funding for medications, postsurgical care items, and breast cancer support groups. In addition, donations have helped enhance equipment and technology at the cancer center, strengthening care for the broader community.
This recognition reflects WWCC’s ongoing commitment to service, compassion, and community impact—values that extend far beyond the court.
