Walla Walla Community College welcomes Dr. Colleen Quinn Vandenboom as the new Vice President of Student Services. Vandenboom brings more than two decades of experience in higher education and a commitment to creating environments that nurture student and staff success.

Most recently, Vandenboom served as the Interim Director for Student Rights and Responsibilities at Eastern Washington University, and she spent several years as Assistant Dean in Student Affairs at Gonzaga University. Vandenboom is also a member of the adjunct faculty at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., teaching Introduction to Student Affairs.

As Vice President of Student Services, Vandenboom will be responsible for planning, coordination, and evaluation of all WWCC student services programs, including advising, counseling, admissions, financial aid, outreach, athletics and other student activities. She reports directly to the President and is a member of the president’s executive leadership team.

“Dr. Vandenboom brings the expertise, the experience and the energy to match WWCC’s commitment to excellence, and our dedication to serving students,” said WWCC President Chad Hickox. “We are very excited to have her joining the team.”

Vandenboom holds a master’s degree in Student Affairs from the University of Florida, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Organizational Change from the University of California at Los Angeles. She also earned a master’s degree in Business Administration from Gonzaga University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science & English Literature from the University of Washington.

“Joining the leadership team at Walla Walla Community College is an extraordinary opportunity to build upon the college’s mission of empowering students and enriching the broader community,” Vandenboom said. “I’m both honored and energized by the chance to collaborate with such a dedicated and talented team that prioritizes removing barriers as we work to foster an environment where students receive the support, resources, and inspiration they need to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.” Vandenboom starts at WWCC on Nov. 4. Her predecessor, Dr. Graydon Stanley, retired this summer.
