Walla Walla Community College

This Friday, when local elementary and middle schools let out early, kids 9 to 14 have a chance to build their basketball skills — and confidence — in a fun and challenging sports clinic from NBC Camps. The Spring Hoops Clinic will take place March 22 from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Walla Walla Community College Student Recreation Center.

Through fun drills and live games, young athletes will work on shooting techniques, offense, defense and team skills. In an encouraging environment, they’ll learn about:

  • Ball handling/dribbling.
  • The keys of shooting.
  • Attacking the basket and scoring.
  • Effective passing.

The camp will be directed by Emmie Ogden, who played two seasons with WWCC’s women’s basketball team and currently plays forward for Whitman College. She is also an NBC Camps Master Teacher.

Parents can sign up at www.nbccamps.com/basketball/camps/nbc-basketball-clinic-walla-walla  or call 1-800-406-3926.

The camp costs $60 per student. Athletes must bring their own snack, basketball, basketball gear, water bottle and medical release form.
