Chart a Course for Your Career

Workforce Education Services (WES) provides educational and career navigation for students enrolled in workforce training pathways or career and academic preparation (CAP). WES Navigator services include:

  • Career exploration and career pathway planning
  • Financial aid navigation, budgeting for college, and financial literacy
  • Tuition assistance to bridge into training
  • Support services available on a case-by-case basis

Learning programs that are part of WES include Basic Food Employment & Training, Perkins one-on-one tutoring services, Worker Retraining, and WorkFirst.

Empowering Basic Food Assistance Recipients

BFE&T IconeWWCC’s Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) program is a partnership with the Department of Social and Health Services which offers job search and skills support to students receiving Basic Food Assistance (formerly known as Food Stamps).

Other funding support options available to workforce training students include the WES Worker Retraining, BFET, and WorkFirst programs. Additionally, all students can apply for traditional scholarships and financial aid.

Academic Support Through WES

One-on-One Tutoring

Personalized, one-on-one academic tutoring is available to WWCC students enrolled in a workforce degree or certificate program. Supported by the Perkins funding, tutoring is free and scheduling is based on the student’s need. Reach out to a WES Navigator at [email protected] to make an appointment.

If not enrolled in a workforce training program, WWCC students can also access free study help through Warrior Tutoring Services.

Discounts on Books and Tool for School

Need books or tools for your classes? Several funding programs can help eligible students with purchasing books, tools, or other school supplies. Reach out to [email protected] to request help.

Social Services and Support Through WES

Child Care

WES Navigators can connect students with several low-cost child care programs in the area.

Child Care Aware

Our mission is to ensure that all children receive quality care. Visit Child Care Aware to search for child care, find help paying for child care, and learn about family resources. Visit the Working Connections Child Care site. Administered through the Department of Social and Health Services, the Working Connections Child Care program provides child care financial assistance to low-income working families. Students enrolled in the BFE&T program may be eligible to receive a subsidy with Working Connections Childcare Care.

Food Pantry

The Warrior Resources on-campus food pantry provides WWCC students with emergency and short-term food supplies as needed.

Health Care Benefits

Apply for Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) through the Washington State Health Care Authority.

Several free or low-cost transportation can bring you to and from classes at WWCC.
