TRiO students can enroll in one or more of the following free online courses:
- Budgeting and Personal Finance (CE 114)
- Paying for College (CE 115)
- Long-term Money Management (CE 116)
Each course provides 1 free elective credit. Students can sign up for 1, 2, or all 3 classes at one time. Financial literacy courses are a great way to learn about responsible strategies for spending and saving money.
One of the key online resources students will use during these financial literacy courses, is Cash Course; which provides free personal finance tools. Students must register for a Cash Course account, then have the continued benefit of being able to access the online tools and information after completing the courses.
TRiO students can sign up for CE 100 and receive 1 free elective credit by participating in 10 skills workshops within one quarter.
This course is designed to help students develop skills and strategies for academic, personal, and career success. Students may attend workshops at in-classroom sessions, online sessions, or a mixture of both formats.
Specific dates, times, and topics of skills workshops will be provided each quarter. Students must meet with their TRiO advisor prior to attending their first workshop to develop a plant that identifies the 10 workshops that will best assist that student in meeting his or her goals. Additionally, students that are expected to maintain weekly contact with their advisor regarding workshop progress.
