Instructional accessibility tools for use by all provide learning opportunities for all students. Several are listed below.

 

Tools Available in Microsoft Word

(Printable Instructions)

  • Read Aloud
    • Allows for a command to be added to the tool bar to read contents of a word document out loud
    • User can customize reading speed and voice type
    • Provides masking of words while reading aloud
  • Translate
    • Allows for translation of text into multiple language

 

Tools in Canvas

  • Course Accessibility Report for Canvas Course (Printable Instructions)
    • Check and easily fix inaccessible content to increase the Course Accessibility Score and access for all.
    • This self-audit tool will show areas of the course that need adjustment and provide easy, guided instruction to correct the issue.
    • The Course Accessibility Report is found in the left Navigation screen in all Canvas courses. It is only available to Instructors/Staff who created the course.

 

Tools on the WWCC website

  • Google Translate at the bottom right of every WWCC web page
    • Allows for translation of almost all digital web content
    • Includes details of Admissions and Student Resources in multiple languages
