Associate in Applied Science - Transfer

Dual purpose degree that will prepare students with skills to be employed following graduation and provide a transfer opportunity for a specific program at a specific university.  Individual general education components will transfer but will not satisfy all the general education components at a baccalaureate institution.

A specific degree outlining the appropriate courses for students to be well prepared to enter the major upon transfer.  Based on the Direct Transfer Agreement format.  Degrees structured under the DTA umbrella provide completion of lower division general education requirements. This is designed for students preparing to major in Biology at many baccalaureate institutions in Washington state.

Designed for students intending to major in sciences. The AS- degree provides:

Completion of similar lower division general education requirements as first- and second-year university students in science-based fields, credit for all courses completed within the AS degree up to and in some cases beyond 90 credits, opportunity to complete math and science prerequisites for the chosen major and to explore other fields within the electives included in the degree.

Designed for students intending to major in sciences.  The AS- degree provides completion of similar lower division general education requirements as first- and second-year university students in science-based fields and opportunity to complete math and science prerequisites for the chosen major and to explore other fields within the electives included in the degree.
