Walla Walla Community College Begins Fall Quarter, Welcomes Largest Fall Quarter Group since 2019
Following a nationwide search, Walla Walla Community College has selected Dante Leon to become Vice President of Instruction.
Mr. Leon brings 20 years of experience as a college administrator and significant experience developing and implementing new certificate, associate and bachelor degree programs. He joins WWCC after serving seven years as the Associate Vice President for the College of Business, Engineering and Technology at Daytona State College.
Prior to that, Mr. Leon spent 16 years as the Dean of Automotive/Technical Programs at Renton Technical College. While at Renton, Mr. Leon developed the first Bachelor of Applied Science degree offered by the college and created an aerospace program in partnership with the Boeing Company.
The Vice President of Instruction at WWCC plays a pivotal role in supporting the mission of the college in all instructional areas. This position collaboratively develops and oversees the planning and implementation of divisional goals for all academic and workforce education programs.

Mr. Leon earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Catholic University in Lima, Peru. He received a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.
At Daytona State College, Mr. Leon led a unit that offered degree programs in Business, Engineering, Hospitality and Information Technology. Throughout his career, he has been involved in programs and initiatives designed to improve student success.
“WWCC is a special place,” Mr. Leon said. “I look forward to supporting its students, faculty and staff.”
When not working, Mr. Leon enjoys jogging and he is excited about exploring the winter sports offerings of our region. He starts at WWCC on September 18.
