Walla Walla Community College will be opening for Fall 2020 under Warrior Flex. Warrior Flex calls for all curriculum that can be taught virtually to continue to be taught virtually. Programs with required hands-on learning will be allowed to have students and faculty access campus for hands-on components. The majority of student services departments will operate remotely. All employees and students will be required to follow the requirements in the WWCC Safe Back to School Plan.
How do the WWCC campuses look different this Fall?
Health and Wellness
Before leaving home for work or class each day, all individuals should monitor and check themselves for COVID-19 symptoms. All employees and students will complete the daily screening log prior to, or upon entrance to the campus to check in and confirm that they are symptom free. Anyone who is experiencing any symptom(s) indicated on the daily screening log must not go to class or work and should self-isolate, contact their instructor or supervisor, and contact their health care provider.
Community Standards
Every student and employee is expected to adhere to the Community Standards. These standards include the three W’s:
- Wear a cloth covering over your nose and mouth
- Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer
- Wait 6 feet apart
Communication
WWCC will provide information on multiple channels including the College’s COVID-19 webpage, Canvas, social media, the College email system and the WWCC emergency alert system.
In the event of a positive case, and consistent with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and other privacy considerations, individuals who have been potentially exposed to the positive case will be notified through contact tracing procedures. A broad notification will not be used except for the purposes of non-identifying communications about clusters of positive cases based on approved guidelines.
The WWCC COVID-19 webpage and the WWCC Warrior Flex Page will be updated regularly so we encourage community members to reference these resources frequently.
