Using Webmail
Most WWCC employees use Netscape Messenger for e-mail while they are on campus, but Webmail makes it possible to access our e-mail from off campus.
Here's how:
  • Launch a web browser, probably either Internet Explorer or Netscape.
In the "Address:" line near the top of the browser window, type: www.wwcc.edu to get to WWCC's website.
  • On the top of WWCC homepage, click on the WEBMAIL link, then click the "Logon to NEW webmail"button.
  • At the login screen, type in your username: "firstname.lastname", enter your password and click the LOGIN button.
  • You're in! From your Inbox, you can open and read incoming messages by clicking on their subject lines.

To create a new message, click on "Mail"at the top of your window. If you know your intended recipient's e-mail address, you may type it in on the "TO:" line. If you don't remember the WWCC address, look at the left side of the split window and type in part of the name you want in the FILTER dialog box and then click "Display"to search. Highlight the correct name and click the "To" button below. Now all you have to do is type up your subject line and the body of your message, and click on "Send."
Want to attach a file to your message? Click on the "Browse" button at the bottom of your message, browse to the and select the file, and click on the OPEN button.
From the Webmail interface under Settings, you personalize the look and change various options like the Webmail layout, the number of messages displayed, etc.
If you are the owner of a mailing list, you can manage the list from within Webmail. You'll see the list on the left hand side of the window under your Inbox. Click the "LIST"link next to the name and you'll be able to manage your list, subscribe members, etc.
If you have created any folders under your Local Mail in Netscape Messenger, you will notice that they are not available here, because those Local Mail folders are on your U: (user) drive, and with Webmail you are accessing messages directly from the mail server.
