best things in life aren’t things.”

VALUES:
Becoming aware
of what you really value and cherish is a lifelong process.
Values are unique
to each person.
Your values lead
you to make decisions about your whole life, not just your career.
To select a satisfying
career, it is necessary that your job fulfills many of your needs and
wants. Your occupation should also directly reflect your values.
Clarifying your
values and their order of importance can eliminate a great deal of conflict
as you set goals.
For example, if
want to own a yacht and a 2nd vacation home, becoming a social worker
or teacher is not the quickest way to reach this goal. You must decide
which you value more.
Sometimes you can
have it both but many times you must compromise. Your compromise will
be based on your values and their order of importance.
