My name is Gary Hobbs, and I will graduate from Walla Walla Community College with an Associate of Arts in Applied Science in Automotive Technology in June of 2002. During my two years at WWCC I maintained a 3.7 GPA while working at an independent auto repair shop.
|
Automotive sparked my interest as a young teenager and I took three and one half years of auto mechanics at Walla Walla High School. I started working at an independent repair shop (air-cooled Volkwagen) the day I turned sixteen. I have worked there since, as a general mechanic including tune-ups, suspension, brakes, restoration, etc. After graduating from high school, I still wanted to learn more. I enrolled into WWCC Automotive Technology program. Since then I have gained an incredible amount of knowledge and invaluable experience. I have especially enjoyed driveability/tune-up related diagnosis. My plan is to start working at a dealership in the eastern Washington area as an automotive technician. I will be taking four ASE tests this spring and am very confident that I will do well on them. I learn quickly and have a great desire to become the best technician that I can. I will be anxious to start in the automotive industry after graduation from WWCC. Please contact me for an interview, or if you have any questions. Sincerely,
Gary Hobbs.
Instructor's Update: Gary worked in a co-op for a short time for Walla Walla Transmission and shortly after he graduated was hired by Motoring Services Inc. located in Kennewick, WA. |
