- Laptops are to be used only in the WWCC Library. Wireless hot points are available in Library West, Library East, and directly in front of the Quiet area.
- Laptops are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No appointments or waiting lists will be kept.
- Laptops are to be used by current WWCC students only. CURRENT Driver’s License and Student Identification cards as well as a library card are required to check out a laptop; no exceptions.
- The library will hold said ID’s until the laptop is returned in the same condition it was lent out. Check out time is 2 hours.
- Laptops are not to be left unattended in study rooms or anywhere in the library.
- No software from these machines can be transferred, duplicated or copied, in accordance with the End-User Licensing Agreements (EULA).
- Users shall not load any software onto these machines.
- Users are responsible for damages incurred while laptops are out under their name. Should the laptop be damaged, fail to operate upon return, or be lost or stolen, the student that the laptop is checked out to shall pay for a comparable replacement. (Approximately $1500.00)
- DO NOT leave laptop on the front counter or put in book drop.
- Users are responsible for saving all work on their own storage devices, (floppy, CD, or flash drive) BEFORE the laptop is turned off. Loss of work due to not saving to a storage device appropriately is NOT the library’s fault or responsibility.
- Users must end laptop use and notify staff they are returning the machine 10 minutes before the library closes. NO laptops will be lent out starting at 30 minutes before the library closes.
- WWCC library staff cannot provide any instruction in use of the laptop or its software.
- Rules of the Student Code of Conduct (http://www.wwcc.edu/currstud/student_handbook06.pdf) shall be followed while using the library’s laptops.
- Laptop privileges can be revoked by the library for breach or constant abuse of these rules by any student.
