BORROWING POLICY
The Walla Walla Community College Library will borrow materials from other libraries when the resources of the WALNET libraries do not meet the needs of the patron.
The library provides interlibrary loan services to any holder of a valid WALNET library card. This service is provided at no charge to the patron. Priority for ILLs is given to WWCC students, staff and faculty. Others (Public Library, Rural Library, and WWCC community patrons) may use this service on a limited basis.
- The current borrowing limit (as of Sept. 1, 2003) for non-WWCC students and staff is 5 items per quarter. This section of the ILL policy will be re-evaluated on a yearly basis.
- All requests must be verified and approved by the reference librarian or, in the case of community patrons, by the library director.
- Borrowers can make two ILL requests at a time unless the director approves additional requests.
- If the resource requested is not needed immediately (within one week), and if the item meets the library’s collection development goals, the library director will purchase the item online or locally.
LENDING POLICY
Walla Walla Community College Library provides lending services to any library which requests services through generally approved channels such as OCLC and ALA loan forms. All items, including copies of articles, are supplied free of charge.
Reserve and instructional materials cannot be loaned to other libraries. Other items, at the discretion of the reference librarian or the library director, may also be unavailable for lending to other libraries.
