|This degree is for students planning to major in secondary math education at a
baccalaureate institution. It is a statewide transfer agreement for secondary math education
majors between the community colleges and public baccalaureate institutions in the state of
This Direct Transfer Agreement (DTA) will fulfill the general education requirements at
the publicWashington state baccalaureate institutions.
Students must earn a cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.0. Please note that
higher GPA's are often required for admission to math education programs. It is strongly
recommended that students contact the baccalaureate granting education school early in their Associate in Math Education - DTA program to be advised about additional requirements and
procedures for admission. Students must take the WEST in order to apply to teacher preparation programs in Washington State.
