Description
Introduces the correct structure and writing technique for a variety of business documents including electronic and oral communication in today's business world. Prerequisite: BUS 136, ENGL& 101 or instructor permission. Formerly BA 137.

  • Effective communication processes in business.
  • Biased writing—things to avoid.
  • Correct use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Business memos and letters requesting services and goods, responding to inquiries and claims, and refusing requests.
  • Persuasive sales letters.
  • Letters of goodwill, appreciation, congratulations, sympathy, and recommendation.
  • Formal research reports.
  • Effective oral communication and presentation skills for business
