Description
Provides Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) experience on ferrous and nonferrous alloys. Topics include welding equipment setup and safety procedures, welding practices and procedures for various applications, and equipment maintenance procedures. Prerequisite: Instructor permission. |
Intended
Skills and Attitude Outcomes |
A. Knowledge of the GMAW equipment, setup steps, process variables, and ability to apply them.
B. Knowledge of proper GMAW procedures and ability to adjust equipment to produce intended weldments.
C. Ability to join mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys using GMAW procedures in all welding positions.
D. Ability to take qualification tests using a chosen GMAW process on either plate or pipe applications.
