Description
Additional experience and training in safe SMAW welding procedures and the opportunity to complete AWS/WABO certification tests. Prerequisite: WELD 152 and instructor permission.

Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes
A. Knowledge of safe and proper SMAW equipment setup, operation, and shutdown practices.
B. Knowledge of SMAW electrodes, multiple welding procedures, weldment testing procedures, and acceptance/rejection standards.
C. Ability to pass welding certifications in all positions using E-6010 and/or E-7018 electrodes on mild steel plate.
D. Ability to test weldments and determine acceptance standards.
E. Ability to meet WABO testing requirements.
