Description
Introduction to welding, cutting, and grinding procedures used for general welding applications. Topics include fuel gas welding, brazing, cutting, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, plasma arc cutting, carbon arc gouging, and abrasive grinding.

Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes
A. Knowledge of major requirements to operate equipment to produce cuts, grinds, and weldments.
B. Knowledge of safe, recommended practices used in student’s area of interest.
C. Ability to set up, operate, and shut down welding and cutting equipment.
D. Ability to recognize safety conditions of a safe working environment.
