Description
Designed to train educators in teaching turf management to high school students. Topics include fundamentals of turf equipment operation, careers in turf management, and turf physiology as well as preparation of lesson plans and developing teaching resources for turf management.

Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes
A. Knowledge of turf equipment operation and the ability to demonstrate proper instruction techniques.
B. Knowledge of the career options and availability in turf management.
C. Ability to identify and classify resource material availability for teaching turf management.
D. Knowledge of turf physiology.
E. Knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate specialty turf management techniques.
F. Knowledge of golf course operations.
G. Knowledge of grass plant water use and irrigation principles.
H. Knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate turf fertilization techniques.
I. Ability to identify turf selection criteria and the knowledge of turf establishment.
