Master Course Outline Compact Diesel Engines Course Number: TST 255 Credits: 1- 17 Hours per Quarter: 300 Lecture Hours:50    Lab Hours:250 Description In-depth study on the theory, operation, service procedures, and troubleshooting necessary to maintain modern compact diesels used in compact tractor, turf equipment, and other commercial equipment. Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes A. Identify major engine components and their parts and explain their purpose. B. Perform preventive maintenance on fuel systems. C. Diagnose diesel engine failures. D. Operate and observe diesel engine operation and perform necessary timing and adjustments. E. Identify major components of an electrical safety system. F. Identify electrical symbols used in wire diagrams and schematics. G. Identify electrical symbols used in wire diagrams and schematics. H. Demonstrate the correct use of a digital multimeter and DC shunt.
