Master Course Outline Speed Reading Course Number: READ 070 Credits: 1 Hours per Quarter: 10 Lecture Hours:10 Description Computerized program to help students improve their reading speed and comprehension. Students learn to train their eyes to see larger groups of words at a glance, keep their eyes moving efficiently as they read, and broaden their field of peripheral vision. Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes A. Develop comprehension while increasing the number of words read per minute. B. Strengthen natural ways of reading and thinking. C. Understand the theory behind rapid reading. D. Understand in what academic situations rapid reading should be used. E. Learn different techniques to increase speed and comprehension.
