Description
Provides basic electrical principles and applications of magnetism, electromagnetism, and the safe utilization of electrical test meters. Principles of operation, testing and repair of ignition systems, cranking systems, and charging systems are demonstrated and practiced. Student may not earn credit for both JD 115 and JDAS 115.

Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes
A. Knowledge of the basics of electricity and application to John Deere equipment.
B. Ability to properly use various electrical testing devices.
C. Ability to read electrical diagrams.
D. Ability to diagnose electrical problems.
E. Knowledge of solid state electronics as applied to John Deere equipment.
