Master Course Outline Medic First Aid Re-Certification Course Number: IFA 023 Credits: .2 Hours per Quarter: 4    Lab Hours:4 Description A review of basic Medical First Aid that provides the student with CPR training and other emergency skills. Priorities of care are reviewed, and key components of the basic course are demonstrated. In order to take the re-certification course, the basic course must have been taken within the prior two-year period. Students must have Medic First Aid card issued within the last two years to enroll. Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes A. Assess scene safety. B. Demonstrate barrier protection. C. Assess major components of primary care. D. Describe, demonstrate, and practice airway assessment, obstructive airway. breathing, and circulation. E. Demonstrate control of bleeding and shock management. F. Focus on injury and illness assessment.
