Introduction to management tools for small business. Includes knowledge of financial statements, business planning and budgeting, inventory control, financing and marketing. |

A. Knowledge of different forms of business organization and advantages of each.
B. Knowledge of financial statements and financial terms.
C. Ability to write a business mission statement and knowledge of the benefits of a business having such a statement.
D. Ability to write a business' objectives and do a strengths and weakness analysis.
E. Knowledge of necessary financial planning needed to begin operation of a small business.
F. Knowledge of elements of a business plan.
G. Knowledge of sources of funds for a business and what elements a lender looks for when making a loan.
H. Knowledge of terms used in marketing.
I. Ability to develop a marketing strategy.
J. Knowledge of pricing policies and strategies by small businesses.
K. Knowledge of different forms of advertising, publicity and sales promotion.
L. Knowledge of supply purchasing procedures and supplier selection.
