Description
Provides the skills necessary for maintaining the vineyard from the point of dormancy through the harvest. Emphasizes crop monitoring techniques, pruning methods, bloom, vine manipulation, determining vine health, as well as the relationship that exists between the grower and the vintner. |

A. Develop understanding of the principles of quality grape production: 1. Pruning. 2. Suckering. 3. Thinning. 4. Canopy management.
B. Knowledge of grape pests and their control.
C. Maintaining fertility and adequate water during the growing season.
D. Ability to assess grape quality prior to harvest.
E. Knowledge of grape bloom, pollination, and fertilization.
F. Understanding of the grower/vintner relationship-contracted awareness.
