Master Course Outline Environmental Literature Course Number: ENGL 229 Credits: 5 Hours per Quarter: 50 Lecture Hours:50 Description Students will examine fiction, poetry, and literary nonfiction drawn from the tradition of nature and enviromental writing to explore the complex relationships between place and self as the class considers the natural world and our relation to it from a variety of perspectives. Lectures and discussions will focus on nature-writing as mirror to shifting social, cultural, scientific, and personal perspectives on nature.
