Description
Introduction to activities that assist in development of a young child's muscle coordination, awareness of body image and movement, and physical development. Topics include developmental sequence, creative expression, brain development, group games, and play. Recommended: READ 088. Student may not earn credit for both ECE 236 and ED 236. |

A. Ability to identify the ways in which movement is essential to learning and the development of young children.
B. Ability to plan and use three or more movement activities with preschool children, applying knowledge of normal development.
C. Knowledge of techniques for positive interactions with young children.
D. Knowledge of the brain and its functions.
