Master Course Outline Curriculum Development Course Number: ECE 231 Credits: 3 Hours per Quarter: 30 Lecture Hours:30 Description Provides a basic knowledge of developmentally appropriate teaching procedures. Students develop competency in the establishment of long-range and short-term goals and objectives, as well as selection, presentation, and evaluation of a variety of teaching methods and learning materials to achieve the goals. Topics include emergent curriculum, anti-bias curriculum, developmentally appropriate practice and play. Recommended: READ 088. Student may not earn credit for both ECE 231 and ED 231. Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes A. Ability to compare and contrast at least two curricula. B. Ability to describe and compare traditional curriculum vs. emergent curriculum philosophies. C.
