Master Course Outline Practical Application I Course Number: COSM 112 Credits: 1- 11 Hours per Quarter: 220    Lab Hours:220 Description Introduction to the basic services of cosmetology. Practice in basic shampoos, rinses, haircuts, trimming, finger wave, roller, pin curl, manicuring, basic permanent wave, four different types of perms, introduction to color, and safety/sanitation. Prerequisite: Instructor permission. Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes A. Practice/observe safety and sanitary measures in all phases of cosmetology designated for beginning students. B. Complete all skill assignments with as much proficiency as possible. C. Demonstrate correct procedures for all practical skills with a Level 2 or above and observe all safety and sanitation requirements. D. Mix chemicals with 100% accuracy according to manufacturers' directions. E. Use communication/interpersonal skills with client. F. Demonstrate respect for others' well-being. G. Practices cosmetology within ethical, regulatory laws.
