Description
Instruction on internal stress, deflections, and deformation of structural members. Topics include bending stress, shear stress, compressive and tensile stresses, stress-strain relationships, Mohr's circle, and shear and moment diagrams. Prerequisite: CET 220. Students may not earn credit for both CET 222 and ENGR& 225.

A. Understanding of stress-strain relationships and stress-strain curves.
B. Understanding of Mohr's circle.
C. Understanding of bending and shear stresses.
D. Understanding of compressive and tensile stresses.
E. Ability to draw shear and moment diagrams.

G. Understanding of the three-moment threom.
H. Knowledge of deflection calculations.
I. Knowledge of indeterminate structures.
