Master Course Outline Introduction to Hydrology Course Number: CET 166 Credits: 5 Hours per Quarter: 50 Lecture Hours:50 Description Introduction to the hydrological cycle with emphasis on precipitation, weather cycles, runoff, stream flows, ground water, and storm water calculations. Oral and written reports are required. Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes A. Knowledge of the hydrological cycle. B. Knowledge of weather cycles and causes. C. Understanding of water budgets. D. Ability to write technical reports. E. Ability to present technical material in oral reports. F. Ability to calculate storm runoffs. G. Understanding of the concepts of time of concentration, Manning's equation, storm frequencies, and storm intensities. H. Ability to calculate pipe sizes for storm systems.
