Master Course Outline Advanced Surveying Course Number: CET 161 Credits: 6 Hours per Quarter: 90 Lecture Hours:30    Lab Hours:60 Description Advanced instruction in surveying fundamentals with an emphasis on public land laws plus construction, property, topographical, and GPS surveys. Oral and written reports are required. Prerequisite: CET 160 or instructor permission. Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes A. Ability to complete topographical surveys. B. Knowledge of property surveying. C. Understanding of Public Land law. D. Ability to use GPS receivers. E. Ability to write lab reports and keep field records. F. Ability to use court house records for legal research. G. Understanding of the care and use of survey equipment and field procedures.
