Assessment based upon completion of painting projects and presentations, and performance on midterm and final critique (includes framing and presentation of the finished acrylic painting): demonstrating knowledge and skill related to a brief history of painting, the vocabulary of and for the visual arts, the basic principles of design, the roles of the artist and the observer, and the materials and methods used in sketching and preparation of the peinting surface for and acrylic painting.
