Description
Study of art in Europe and the U.S. made during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Architecture, sculpture, painting, printmaking and the photo arts, are studied. Influences of the past, combined with the rapid technological and cultural changes of the Modern Age, are explored to develop an understanding of the art of our own times. This course is the third in a three-quarter sequence but may be taken out of sequence. |

Skills and Attitude Outcomes |
Students must museum visits, a project related toancient art style in art and architecture, exams over major monuments, artists and movements, quizzes, a "You Were There! assignment, and a comprehensive final which demonstrate the student's ability to identify time periods, geogrpahical centers, and stylistic characteristics of major art movements in Europe and the U.S. made during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries
