Description
Study of art in Europe and Early America from the fourteenth through the eighteenth centuries. Architecture, sculpture, painting, and crafts are studied. Special attention is given to the theme of the changing role of the artist. This course is the second in a three-quarter sequence but may be taken out of sequence. |
Intended
Skills and Attitude Outcomes |
Students must museum visits, a project related toancient art style in art and architecture, exams over major monuments, artists and movements, quizzes, a "You Were There! assignment, and a comprehensive final which demonstrate the student's ability to identify time periods, geogrpahical centers, and stylistic characteristics of major art movements in Europe and Early America from the fourteenth through the eighteenth centuries.
