Description
A synopsis of safety and worker protection in the agricultural workplace and completion of course work leading to certification of the student as a pesticide application technician. Emphasis on agricultural operations, turf management technological changes and hazards associated with pesticide and fertilizer use. |

Skills and Attitude Outcomes |
A. Knowledge of general health risks and their implications for rural America.
B. Knowledge of health risks from exposure to weather’s elements.
C. Ability to identify work habits, practices, and associated risks that have an impact on the agricultural worker’s health and business.
D. Knowledge of the importance and proper procedures for disposal of waste materials.
E. Ability to develop a site specific safety plan.
F. Knowledge of common machine hazards related to the agricultural industry and proper prevention techniques.
G. Ability to read and understand labels and safety procedures for selected chemicals.
H. Ability to successfully complete Medic First Aid.
