Addresses common feeding practices and nutrient characteristics of animal feeds. Topics include ration formulation and ration requirements for cattle, sheep, hogs, and horses. |

Skills and Attitude Outcomes |
A. Knowledge of the major nutrients required by animals and the ability to relate these requirements to the levels of nutrients in common feedstuffs.
B. Knowledge of common feedstuffs in terms of their nutrient composition and physical characteristics.
C. Ability to balance ration for farm animals.
D. Ability to recognize and apply common feeding practices.
