Description
Body shop safety, use of common hand tools, power tools, body hand tool operations, and body fasteners will be covered. The study of mild and high strength steel, sheet metal design, and collision damage analysis.

Intended Skills and Attitude Outcomes
A. Knowledge of specific facts covered by the course.
B. Knowledge of personal safety and health protection guidelines.
C. Knowledge of hazardous materials related to body shop.
D. Ability to use body shop hand tools, common hand tools, and power tools.
E. Ability to use and care for drill bits, taps and dies, and body fasteners.
F. Operation of shop equipment and operation of vehicle lifts.
G. Ability to interpret damage report information and plan repair sequence.
H. Knowledge of non-structural panel replacement and alignment.
I. Ability to install and remove automotive trim and hardware.
J. Basic knowledge of metal straightening.
K. Basic knowledge of using body fillers.
L. Knowledge and understanding of repairing and replacing door skin and quarter panels.
M. Ability to diagnose and repair movable glass and hardware.
