Description
The use, operation, and maintenance of turf equipment, including mower units, top dressers, soil aerators, trimmers, and miscellaneous turf equipment are covered. Also provides a practical understanding of costing of equipment. Safety is emphasized.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Operate a variety of mower units, top dressers, aerification units, trimmers, and miscellaneous turf equipment by summarizing the steps used.
  • Demonstrate competency of maintenance procedures on a variety of turf equipment.
  • Describe the methods used for blade sharpening and adjusting.
  • Summarize the procedures used for equipment lubrication.
  • Describe the steps used for equipment inspection.
  • Demonstrate competence of area measurement by measuring a given area.
  • Describe the processes used for equipment use costing.
  • Describe various principles of equipment safety practices.
