Description
Students will operate and maintain turf equipment, including mower units, top dressers, soil aerators, trimmers, sprayers and miscellaneous turf equipment. They will also develop a practical costing of equipment plan which emphasizes safety.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Operate a variety of mower units, top dressers, aerifiers, trimmers, and turf equipment.
  • Demonstrate maintenance procedures on a variety of turf equipment.
  • Dmonstrate the methods used for blade sharpening and adjusting.
  • Demonstrate equipment lubrication procedures.
  • Develop an equipment inspection plan.
  • Calculate the area measurement (in appropriate units) of a given space.
  • Develop an equipment use costing plan.
  • Demonstrate equipment safety practices.
