Description
Provide students with a chance to examine a specific area of Psychology in depth. The basic concepts of the particular area of study will be covered, in addition to discussion of related current events and specific issues of local, national or global interest. Includes lecture as well as student interaction, and will require critical thinking and consideration of relevant diversity issues. Prerequisite: Students must be enrolled in WWCC Honors Program, or instructor permission. |
Intended Learning Outcomes
Discuss basic concepts in Psychology, and advanced concepts in the area of study.
Apply those concepts to real-life examples and situations.
Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate research and information on the specific topic.

Course Topics
Specific topics will vary depending on the area of focus within Psychology.
Definition and general concepts within the specific topic.
Diversity issues related to the specific topic.
Basic research methods for finding more in-depth inforamtion on teh topic chosen.
Global, national and local instances of the specific topic at play in the world outside of the classroom.
