Description
Anger Stress Management is a statewide standardized course designed to acquaint students with where stress and anger originate in our lives (modeled behavior); what effects (benefits and hazards) they were originally designed to have on the "human animal"; what effects they can have on us physically, mentally and socially in modern times; where and from whom stress and anger responses are learned by individuals; what options there are for controlling stress and anger. Formerly PSY 099.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Students will be aware of a variety of options that exist for managing stressful and anger-arousing situations.
  • Students will be knowledgable in overall world violence levels.
  • Students will understand the influence of one's family bacground on anger and stress factors.
  • Students will explore how home and personal surroundings contribute to stress and anger modeling, frustration-tolerance, anger and violence.
  • Students will examine what personal triggers and anger patterns are.
  • Students will learn how to make the most informed and empowering choices possible when stressed or angry with another person or with one's life situation.
  • Students will understand where stress and anger originate in life.
  • Students will explore what effects anger and stress were originally desined to have.
  • Students will understand what effects anger and stress can have on an individual physically, mentally and socially in modern times.
  • Students will have a knowledge of where and from whom stress and anger responses are learned by individuals.
  • Students will identify options available for controlling stress and anger.
