Description
The Getting it Right course is an Offender Change Program with the goal of assisting students with changing criminal behavior utilizing several researched models of intervention. The underlying principles include the premise that individuals are responsible for their behavior and that they are able to change their behavior. Formerly PSY 090.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • Acquire the necessary skill-building techniques to identify and correct criminal thinking patterns.
  • Acquire the necessary skill-building techniques to identify reactive thoughts and feelings and develop appropriate responses.
  • Acquire the necessary skill-building techniques to develop appropriate, pro-social methods of communication.
  • Acquire the necessary skill-building techniques to identify high-risk situations associated with relapsing into criminal behavior and build skills to cope with these situations.
