Description
Uses word processing applications and office suite software to build and reinforce document processing skills and the integration of realistic business practices. Realistic workplace challenges integrating business vocabulary, critical thinking, strategies, and Web research skills are provided. Related learning and success tips for working effectively are included to improve workplace efficiency and professional development. Prerequisite: OT 126 or instructor permission.

Intended Learning Outcomes
  • The ability to produce a variety of business documents using basic and advanced features of computer software applications.
  • The ability to acquire and use editing skills in the preparation and revision of business documents.
  • The ability to complete projects independently using critical thinking skills and the transfer of previously learned concepts and applications

  • Course Topics
  • Office Productivity including standardizing document formats, maintaining and updating directories, managing files, designing forms, budget formats, news letters and news releases.
  • Creation of web pages, web page links, bookmarks using word processing software.
  • Integration of office suite programs in the production of a variety of business documents.
